The pub offers a regular house menu consisting of Starters, Mains, Grills & Desserts, as well as themed menu days and both a midweek roast and a traditional Sunday roast.

With a variety of starters to choose from including our very popular home-made chicken liver pate, the ever-present traditional prawn cocktail with our home-made Marie Rose sauce, not forgetting our home-made Chef’s soup of the day.

Among the dishes on the house main course menu is the locally renowned Home-made Pie of the Day, a traditional whole individual short crust pastry pie, hand made in batches of 8, that sell out quickly, with fillings ranging from tender steak and ale, chicken and ham, beef and onion plus seasonally we buy in local game and dedicate a period to a true local favourite. The home-made Lasagne is not for the light eater and as a result we make up a smaller individual one, so as not to disappoint those lighter diners. Our honey roasted ham is a real West Country favourite served with free range eggs and chips, a constant winner.

Grill Menu

On our Grill menu we offer a full range of locally sourced meats, including Pork Loins, Rump, Sirloin and Ribeye Steaks a jumbo Gammon Steak plus our beast of a House Mixed Grill, even our hearty local farmers testify to its quantity and quality. All our Grills can be accompanied by one of our hand made to order sauces including Pepper, Red Wine, Diane, Blue Cheese and Creamy Honey and Mustard.

If its Burgers that ignite your taste buds, we have a separate Burger menu consisting of 7 different types including the classic cheese and bacon to our Cajun salmon burger. For the hungry we offer an upsell to our Big Boy Burger, a double of your choice.

The House Dessert board is a huge favourite for our sweeter toothed diners, offering a choice of up to 9 Desserts, frequently changing to meet seasonal needs, all served with a choice of Cream, Ice Cream or Custard. Our desserts range from Home Made crumble of the day, selection of cheesecakes, Ice Creams and always 2 or 3 bespoke specials such as, Raspberry Cranahan Gateaux and Gin Fizz Lime and Elderflower Cheesecake, plus our hearty House Cheeseboard for the not so sweet toothed.

Daily we refresh our Chef Specials Board ensuring there is always a balanced mix of speciality dishes, we endeavour to maintain at least 2 vegetarian dishes, a tasty Fish Dish, some real meaty treats and often a little something spicy for the more adventurous. Our team are always willing to guide you through the Specials and will often offer opinion on their own favourite.
